Openchannelflow fiberglass Packaged Metering Manholes (PMMs) solve the difficult problem of measuring piped flows below grade. Starting with our industry-leading fiberglass manhole tube, Openchannelflow integrates: a flow device (flume, weir, or mag meter), cover, base, and access ladder.
The result is a single-piece, watertight, and corrosion-resistant structure from which operators can accurately (and safely) measure and sample flows.
For owners, Packaged Metering Manholes provide:

Openchannelflow Flume Metering Manholes take our proven open channel flumes and adapts them to measure below-grade flows.
Flume Metering Manholes are easy to install, require minimal line downtime, and are factory integrated. All fiberglass construction means that Openchannelflow Flume Metering Manholes are more than a match for all but the most aggressive flows. The result is a manhole that is a watertight and corrosion-resistant structure from which operators can accurately (and safely) measure and sample flows.
For owners, fiberglass Flume Manholes provide:

Many of the flow measurement solutions that Openchannelflow offers are for waters flowing in open channels or non-full pipes. But there are times where full pipe conditions are present. For those times, Openchannelflow has developed fiberglass Mag Meter Manholes.
Openchannelflow Mag Meter Manholes can integrate meters from all major meter manufacturers, in sizes from 1/2 to 12-inches [1.27 to 30.48 cm].
Openchannelflow Mag Meter Manholes can integrate meters from all major meter manufacturers, in sizes from 1/2 to 12-inches [1.27 to 30.48 cm].
At the core of each Openchannelflow Fiberglass Mag Meter Manhole is our ASTM D3753 highway rated manhole barrel. The barrel provides high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. To that, we add a cover, base, mounting flange, and, most importantly, a customer supplied mag meter.
Openchannelflow Mag Meter Manholes can be configured to your site needs, with a variety of top styles available.
The manholes are also available in diameters from 48 to 96-inches [1.22 to 2.44 m] and in depths up to 35-feet [10.7 m] and with a variety of accessories.

Weir Manholes occupy a unique place in Openchannelflow's manhole lineup. While Flume Metering Manholes usually can cover flow rates more effectively, there are times when the unique attributes of a weir are needed.
Weir Manholes take our Weir Channels and integrate them into our fiberglass manholes. Factory integrated and easy to install, Openchannelflow Weir Manholes allow drop-in place ease at a cost-effective price. Dig it! Drop it! Done!
While Weir Manholes are most commonly used to measure dam seepage flows (where the collection of sediments is important), they can also measure flow on clean industrial discharges.
Keep in mind, as with any weir application, the flow must be sub-critical and non-full pipe as it enters the manhole.
Strength:
At the core of each Openchannelflow Fiberglass Weir Manhole is our fiberglass manhole tube. While manhole configurations may differ, all Openchannelflow manhole tubes are designed to meet or exceed both ASTM D3753 and AASHTO H-20 standards. The interior of these tubes is smooth and corrosion-resistant. The light tan coloration of the tube helps to maximize visibility inside the manhole.
To the barrel, we add a cover, base, mounting flange, and, most importantly, a weir sized to measure the flow accurately!

For a Flume or Weir to work correctly, the flow must be sub-critical and tranquil. Many times, however, site conditions don’t allow the development of this type of flow. For those occasions, Openchannelflow has developed fiberglass Energy Absorbing Manholes.
Fiberglass Energy Absorbing Manholes are a way to slow the velocity of water through a pipe system in a way that's cost-effective and which requires little in the way of line downtime.
Energy Absorbing Manholes can be placed directly upstream of Packaged Metering Manholes. The flow is slowed and conditioned in the Energy Absorbing Manhole and then smoothly flows into the Packaged Metering Manhole to be measured.
Energy Absorbing Manholes eliminate the need for costly line excavations, replacement, or resloping. Installation can also be concurrent with a Packaged Metering Manhole – reducing labor and machinery costs.

Openchannelflow fiberglass Diversion Manholes help operators control, direct, and distribute below-grade non-full pipe flows.
Diversion Manholes are available in multiple configurations, including:
Diversion Manholes allow for drop-in-place installation and can be provided with gated channels to direct flow to different downstream locations.
Like our other fiberglass manholes, Openchannelflow Diversion Manholes are single-piece, watertight, and corrosion-resistant.
When Y-channels or J-bends are provided, fiberglass benching is included around them. The benching eliminates the need to pour concrete benching in the manhole and has a molded-in non-slip diamond plate pattern. The diamond plate doesn't wear or blind like gritted surfaces and is easy to maintain.
A variety of top styles are available with Openchannelflow Diversion Manholes, including:

Storm Water / Screening Manholes are a class of structures that Openchannelflow has developed to removed trash, grit, floating debris, and oil from collection systems. Using our proven fiberglass manhole tubes, Openchannelflow integrates a screenings structure specific to your site's needs.
Just like our other fiberglass manholes, Openchannelflow Storm Water / Screenings Manholes are single-piece, watertight, and corrosion-resistant. Factory integrated they are cost-effective and require little line downtime. Dig it! Drop it! Done!
Openchannelflow offers three standard configurations of Storm Water / Screenings Manholes:
Storm Water / Screenings are almost always of the Domed Top Style. The fiberglass dome top fully opens, allowing operator access and easy removal of the screenings basket.

For a drop-in-place solution to the problem of how to perform inline sewage grinding, Openchannelflow offers factory-integrated fiberglass Grinder Manholes. These manholes take our tried-and-true fiberglass manhole structure and integrates a custom channel to mount your grinder.
Fiberglass Grinder Manholes are rugged, corrosion-resistant, and cost-effective, providing factory integration and little in the way of line downtime or manhole maintenance.
Openchannelflow has experience integrating grinders from:

The beauty of fiberglass is its versatility. This versatility allows Openchannelflow to incorporate a range of different accessories into our Fiberglass Manholes.
The result is a single-piece, watertight, and corrosion-resistant structure from which operators can accurately (and safely) measure and sample flows.
